More than 25 years ago, the Womenâs Studies Program established its roots at East Tennessee State University. Since then, the program has sought to provide feminist education on the campus and throughout the region through scholarship, activism and community building.
To commemorate this noteworthy milestone, the Womenâs Studies Program will hold a celebration at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, April 26, via Zoom. The public is invited to attend this commemorative occasion as Womenâs Studies honors its past at ETSU and looks forward to an exciting future. The foremothers of the Womenâs Studies Program, along with the Womenâs Studies Steering Committee, fought diligently to institute and grow the Womenâs Studies Program. One of the Womenâs Studies foremothers and current professor in ETSUâs Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Dr. Martha Copp, recalls many of the faculty who supported Wo
