We regret incidents of night of inauguration -Parliament
The leadership of Parliament has expressed regret about incidents which characterised the inauguration of the 8th Parliament last Thursday.
It would be recalled that the inauguration of the 8th Parliament was met with brawls, agitations, attacks, and even the stealing of a ballot box from some members yet to be sworn in. This act actually prolonged the time set aside for the inauguration and also the swearing in of the President-elect at the time, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
In a statement signed by the Director of Public Affairs, Kate Addo, she indicated that most of the actions during the night were regrettable, but Parliament would like to put them behind it and work towards a more focused and unified membership aimed at promoting best parliamentary practices and good governance.
