The FIDE Trainers Commission is pleased to announce the winners of the 15th FIDE Trainer Awards 2023 and the Yuri Averbakh / Isaac Boleslavsky Award for the best book published in 2022. Ramesh R B, Abhijit Kunte and Djakhangir Agaragimov were chosen as the top trainers of the year. Much like on the first day of the Women’s Candidates (Pool B) in Khiva, two tense draws were signed by the contenders looking to get a spot in the final against Lei Tingjie. An extremely entertaining first round in the Masters section of the Prague Chess Festival saw Le Quang Liem, David Navara and Pentala Harikrishna scoring the first victories of the event to grab an early lead.
