The town of Ridgway plans to hire a new deputy marshal and reclassify existing deputies to become eligible for overtime pay, in order to comply with federal labor laws it has violated for years.
Deputies who serve and protect Ridgway work in the only town department that doesn't pay overtime, and the town has not complied with federal labor laws requiring them to do so since at least 2017.
