I am told that in the military, it is sacrilegious to write the testimonial of your senior. So I am inclined to believe that if there were no exceptions to that rule, Nigeriaâs new Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Isiaka Oladayo Amao would not have said what was credited to him, on the occasion of his takeover of the helmsmanship of the Nigerian Air Force, NAF from his predecessor, Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar.

Air Marshal Sadiq AbubakarThe Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar, has said Boko Haram elements have been seriously decimated by young officers and men of the special forces of the Nigerian Air Force.
The Air Chief, who stated this in Kaduna, yesterday, explained that Boko Haram and other criminal elements no longer have the capacity to attack the Air Force base as they did in Maiduguri in 2013. x
Speaking at the combined graduation ceremony of 676 officers and men of the Air Force from five special forces training at the Regiment Training Centre in Kaduna, Abubakar said the Air Force can now boast adequate trained men, who are capable of protecting the Air Assets.
By law, the police chief is appointed by the president on the “advice” of the Police Council.
This Council is chaired by the president and has the 36 state governors, chairman of the Police Service Commission and the IGP as members.
