The Corps Marshal of Federal Road Safety Corps, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, has expressed concerns over increasing cases of speed-related crashes during this Yuletide period and directed commanding officers to step up enforcement of the law on the use of speed limiting device.
The directive followed a careful review of the first phase of the end of year special patrol being embarked upon by personnel of FRSC.
Corps Public Education Officer, Assistant Corps Marshal Bisi Kazeem, in a statement issued in Abuja, on Sunday, said while the Corps Marshal expressed satisfaction with the conduct of most drivers and the performance of the personnel in containing the rate and fatalities of road traffic crashes within the period of Christmas celebration, he expressed concerns that the increasing level of speed induced crashes as recorded within the period is undermining the efforts

The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Dr Boboye Oyeyemi has expressed satisfaction with the general conduct, commitment and professionalism exhibited by the personnel of the corps during the Yuletide special patrol.
Oyeyemi’s remarks were contained in a statement by the FRSC’s Public Education Officer, Assistant Corps Marshal Bisi Kazeem on Saturday in Abuja.
He also commended the cooperation of the road users, saying that the excellent performances and positive impact recorded by the corps were directly tied to the high rate of compliance received from the motoring public.

Abuja, Dec. 27, 2020 The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Sunday expressed deep concerns over increasing cases of speed-related crashes recorded within the yuletide season.
The Corps Marshal, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi disclosed this in a statement by the Corps Public Education Officer (CPEO), Assistant Corps Marshal Bisi Kazeem in Abuja.
The statement indicated that Oyeyemi had therefore directed commanding officers across the country to step up enforcement of use of speed limiting devices by motorists.
He said the directive was necessary following a review of the first phase of the end of year special patrol embarked upon by corps.
Lagos – The management of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has said that all applicants for the National Driver’s Licence must present the National Identification Number (NIN) before they can be captured for any class of the licences produced by it with effect from December 21, 2020.
The agency new decision was in compliance with the Federal Government’s directives on the harmonisation of citizens’ data by relevant agencies.
In a press statement signed by the Assistant Corps Marshal Bisi Kazeem, all driver’s licence applicants are therefore, expected to present their National Identification Number from the date, before they can be attended to, adding that there would be no waiver for anyone.

The Federal Road Safety Corps has announced the promotion of 2,880 officers and marshals to new ranks.
The Corps Public Education Officer Assistant Corps Marshal Bisi Kazeem made the announcement in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja.
He said that the FRSC approved the promotions following the consideration of a report by its establishment committee.
Kazeem said that 435 officers were promoted to their next ranks, 769 Marshal Inspectors, and 1,676 Road Marshal Assistants were equally elevated to the next ranks.
According to him, out of the 435 officers, 33 of them are promoted from the rank of Chief Route Commander to Route Commander.
