Woodside Road closed Lower Makefield Bucks County wetland excavation

A portion of Woodside Road in Lower Makefield closes Monday for nearly a month for wetland excavation, the state s Department of Transportation announced Tuesday. Crews for the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission will close the road between Route 32 (River Road) and Taylorsville Road weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through April 15. A detour will direct northbound traffic onto Taylorsville Road to Mount Eyre Road and Route 32, and southbound traffic will use Taylorsville Road, Main Street, Route 332 (Afton Road) and onto Route 32 (Delaware Avenue/River Road).

Ex-Morris Plains senior center worker pleads not guilty in sex assault

New Jersey Herald Prosecutors have offered a former maintenance worker at a Morris Plains assisted-living home five years in prison to avoid trial on charges he sexually assaulted a 77-year-old resident last summer. Anthony Ligon, 62, appeared in a virtual state Superior Court hearing Monday from the Morris County jail, where he has been held since his July 2020 arrest. Ligon, of Morristown, is accused of assaulting a 77-year-old woman with Alzheimer s disease and early-onset dementia inside a unit at the Arbor Terrace senior living facility between July 3 and July 4. Ligon pleaded not guilty Monday to an indictment formally charging him with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, third-degree aggravated sexual contact and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact.
