Marsha Weatherwax says, “The kitchen is where I find my joy.”
Sometime during her travels from Iowa to North Carolina to Virginia, later settling in Gloucester, Marsha Weatherwax “got the cooking bug.”
“Growing up in Manchester, Iowa, I didn’t cook very much at all. I was much younger than my siblings so by the time I was in high school my parents ate out a lot,” Marsha confesses. However, following her marriage to her high school sweetheart Matt, having to cook became a necessity.
“Matt joined the Marine Corps and was stationed in North Carolina. I moved there but my cooking skills were very weak. I could barely make anything without burning it. These were the casserole years. My husband was so sick of casseroles he decided to do something about it.”
