you don t want to be the nail that sticks out in south korean society. you ll get hammered. i want to be careful of being the western person who is looking at the east, right, and trying to impose our standards on things but mental health and depression and anxiety, these things are not treated the same way as they are in the west. there is not kind of a norm in which you get therapy and talk out a lot of your issues, and so vulnerability and just being emotionally exposed is something that s really difficult, whether you re in the limelight or not, but in the case of being in the limelight, you re then subjected to a lot of the public s license to make judgments on your appearance and behavior, and that was tragically something that happened with two of the female stars in particular. there are other skajtds as well. we mentioned last week the arrest and conviction of three former k pop stars as well. authorities over there are hoping to do something about this? yeah. and i think
