As she laid out a criminal justice proposal that includes harsher penalties for attacking police, Gov. Kim Reynolds on Tuesday used the ambush of three Davenport officers last summer as an example of the violence she wants to discourage.
In her Condition of the State address, Reynolds recognized the three Davenport police officers involved in the incident Lt. Greg Behning, Sgt. Scott Lansing and Detective Patrick Sievert all of whom attended the speech. Lansing, who was shot in his left leg during the incident, stood using a crutch as he and the others were recognized.
