Portugal’s health minister announced on Wednesday that the government is negotiating with the European Commission and some member states for Portugal to receive more doses of Covid-19 vaccine from Pfizer in advance.
Marta Temido was speaking at the end of a ceremony to sign a protocol with the social sector under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) at the Marquês do Alegrete Palace in Lisbon, a session that was chaired by the prime minister, António Costa.
“Together with the European Commission and other countries that are in the process of joint procurement, Portugal and the government remain committed to trying to expedite the delivery of a greater quantity of vaccines” against Covid-19, she said.
