Council to close section of popular beach Sunshine Coast Council say a small section of the beach at Mudjimba will be closed between 7am to 5pm from February 8 to mid-March. Council News Staff writers Premium Content Subscriber only A section of North Shore Beach at Mudjimba will be temporarily closed to the public and dogs until mid-March. Sunshine Coast Council says the closures will provide refuge for migratory shorebirds while sand is pumped from the Maroochy River onto Maroochydore Beach to renourish the coastline after storm-related erosion. The closures will be from 7am to 5pm from Monday next week until mid-March.
