Written By: News Staff | × 50 years ago In school election Femling, Schultz win on Tuesday The Perham-Dent school board election was held on Tuesday, May 18, 1971. A total of 840 people voted, 561 from Perham and 279 from Dent. Dexter Femling, with 519 total votes, came in first place. With 313 votes, incumbent Melvin Schultz came in second place. Both were elected to the new school board. Local bowling banquet set for Saturday All bowlers, along with their spouses and sponsors of the bowling team, were invited to attend a banquet. This was planned to take place at 7 p.m. in the 4-H building on Saturday, May 22, 1971. After a short program, a presentation of awards and a dance were planned.
