POLICE across Lancashire disrupted a number of coronavirus breaches over the last weekend, including a wedding and a hot tub party. In total between 6am on Friday and 6am on Monday officers received 362 Covid logs and issued 124 tickets. This had fallen slightly compared to 461 Covid logs and 277 tickets issued the previous weekend. Lancashire Police chief superintendent Russ Procter said: “While it is pleasing to see a significant drop in Covid-related logs, we remain in the middle of a pandemic and it is crucial we stick to the rules and regulations and play our part. “We have always taken a proportionate approach to breaches of the regulations, educating, explaining and engaging first, with enforcement as a last resort but when people blatantly break the rules we will not hesitate to take a firmer approach.
