Many people are concerned about radiation monitoring within the grounds of the Belarusian nuclear power plant (BelNPP). It is conducted round the clock, Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich said in an interview with the Economy of Belarus magazine.
The Belarusian Energy Ministry stated that the nuclear power plant is operating as normal. The first unit is operating at designed output levels. The second unit continues raising the reactor's output as part of the commissioning process.
Current gamma-ray radiation levels are also shown on information displays located in the populated localities Voronyany, Podoltsy, Rymdyuny, Goza, Chekhi, Markuny, Chernishki, Olkhovka, and Svir.
