PRINCETON The owners of Red Apple Farm had been wanting to open a ski-thru service window on Wachusett Mountain for the past several years. But it took the COVID-19 pandemic to make it a reality, says owner Al Rose.
Employees of the popular Phillipston farm have been selling coffee, cider and doughnuts inside the Bullock Lodge, which is located about a third of the way up the mountain, for several years.
But the current restrictions and safety guidelines put in place as a result of the pandemic created a need for the implementation of an outside order and pickup window system, so that skiers and employees could maintain proper social distancing.
