Association demands COVID-19 protocol compliance in markets Afeez Hanafi The Market Trader Association of Nigeria has urged traders across the country to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 protocols issued by the authorities to stem the spread of the virus. MATAN National President, Jamilu Abbas, said the association had notified all the state chapters and local governments to organise workshops in order to enlighten its members. Abbas, who led the body’s national delegation to the inauguration of Lagos State caretaker committee, disclosed this in a statement on Friday. He said the enlightenment became necessary, especially because of many rural traders who might not have adequate understanding of the law recently signed by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).
