Insurance division files emergency order against agent BY BUSINESS RECORD STAFF Tuesday, April 6, 2021 10:48 AM The Iowa Insurance Division on Monday issued an emergency adjudicative order against a Marshalltown insurance agent, Oscar Sanchez. According to the order, Sanchez received cash payments from insurance consumers knowing the payments received were not for payment of premium but for his personal use. The division’s Market Regulation Bureau has been conducting an investigation into multiple alleged violations of law by Sanchez since approximately September 2020. In that month, Sanchez, whose last known address is in West Des Moines, had been arrested by Marshalltown police following complaints that he was fraudulently collecting $1,000 cash payments from residents, telling them they were additional “deductibles” owed.
