This week, the House is taking up the America COMPETES Act of 2022. We have a real opportunity to come together and deliver bipartisan results For the People, because many of the ideas are the result of bipartisan bills included in the COMPETES Act, including ones sponsored by Republicans and passed by the House this Congress with bipartisan support.
“We understand that you have asked Israel to facilitate the transfer of vaccines to the West Bank and Gaza and we welcome and appreciate your intervention. We believe you must continue to push the Israeli government to take action until there is a comprehensive vaccination program in place for Palestinians living under Israeli rule,” the lawmakers wrote.
State Department deputy spokesperson Jalina Porter said she had not seen the letter from House Democrats and was unable to comment, when asked by The Hill during a briefing with reporters Monday.
United Nations human rights experts and international groups have said Israel is obligated to provide vaccinations to Palestinians, under the terms of the Fourth Geneva Convention to maintain health services in an occupied territory.

What we did over here was something that I wish the Senate would just accept. But they have their own realities that they have to deal with, said Rep. Jim McGovern (D-Mass.), the chairman of the House Rules Committee. It s not what I would have preferred, but we have to get this package done.
House Democrats last week passed a massive $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief bill that included a new round of stimulus checks, providing $1,400 for individuals earning up to $75,000 annually and couples earning up to $150,000. The cash stipend would phase out, under the House bill, at income levels of $100,000 for individuals and $200,000 for couples.
