School district to seek architect proposals for use of former Cognizant buildings | News, Sports, Jobs

A second high school for the Minot school district could be a step closer. At Thursday’s school board meeting, Superintendent Mark Vollmer said it is now time to seek an architectural firm to draw up a proposal for how to convert two former Cognizant office buildings into school space. The board gave unanimous approval to placing an advertisement in the newspaper seeking proposals from architectural firms. Last June, Cognizant agreed to sell the two buildings and surrounding land at 2000 21st Avenue NW to the school district for the nominal fee of $10. An architectural firm would be asked to explore what areas of the existing property might be repurposed and what additional building would be required for a second 9-12 high school.
