CVS Latest To Offer COVID-19 Vaccine Locally

Updated Medical - vaccine Sonora, CA Select CVS stores in California, including those in Sonora, Angels Camp and Jackson are the latest to offer free COVID-19 vaccine through a federal program. In late December Governor Gavin Newsom announced that CVS and Walgreens were picked to take part in a federal pharmacy partnership to help administer vaccines in the state. There is no cost to get the vaccine with insurance or through a federal program for the uninsured. The company joins Adventist Health Sonora, the Tuolumne County Public Health Department, Mark Twain Medical Center and the VA clinic in offering shots locally.

Interim Calaveras Health Officer Dr. Paul Beatty San Andreas, CA The Interim Health Officer for Calaveras County hinted that the upcoming Johnson & Johnson vaccine may help trigger a turning point in putting an end to COVID-19. The Calaveras Board of Supervisors heard an update from health officials at today’s meeting. Interim Health and Human Services Director Samuel Leach opened the presentation by stating that 4,646 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the county, compared to 2,080 doses two weeks ago. “We’re gaining momentum,” he noted. Getting vaccine is still a challenge. 800 new doses arrived in Calaveras within the past week.
