New Mark Trail is ruining Mark Trail - CentralMaine com

New Mark Trail is ruining ‘Mark Trail’ Letter Share Reading the Morning Sentinel is a key part of my morning routine, and after reading about the woes of the world I look to the comics for a respite, a moment to be entertained with humor and, at times, contemplation. The old Mark Trail was part of that, the storyline a little corny and dated but he was a forthright, true-blue overall “good guy,” and if nothing else, the illustrations were beyond compare. The new Mark Trail? Awful! I actually Googled articles on the debut of the new Mark Trail; he is to be a “champion for environmentalism.” In his first effort to save the manatees, he punches his father, steals his boat, runs from the police and crashes the boat. A hell of an example this “champion” set for the environmentalism. The new Cherry has a bigger role, an improvement over the dutiful wife, but we are introduced to her as she brawls with her sister.

Gray-New Gloucester High School Class of 71 planning reunion

Read Article DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Gray-New Gloucester High School Class of 1971 is planning a 50th reunion in New Gloucester on Saturday, Sept. 11. We’re looking for contact information for several classmates. If you have not received information on the reunion, please contact Mike or Lucinda Brakey at 998-2911 or [email protected]. Lucinda, New Gloucester ANSWER: I’m happy to see that people are feeling optimistic about planning a gathering. I hope it works out so that high school classmates everywhere can keep the tradition of reuniting later this year. DEAR SUN SPOTS: I just finished reading Monday’s Sun Journal and was happy to see that the new comic strip Curtis had replaced Mark Trail. Ever since the new Mark Trail appeared, I skipped it because I didn’t care for the new look and preferred the original. Thanks to all who had a hand in replacing that travesty with Curtis. No name, Jay

Please get rid off unreadable Mark Trail - CentralMaine com

Please get rid of unreadable ‘Mark Trail’ Letter Share “Mark Trail,” a longtime favorite of mine despite its agonizingly slow pace, has become unreadable. The storyline is soap opera-like, sophomoric, and unnecessarily violent. Today’s strip introduced a talking shark. What’s next, Mark Trail develops super powers? I can handle the modernized artwork, but the content has gone off the rails. I urge you to consider removing “Mark Trail” from the comics page and replace it with something worthwhile. That or talk the new writer into returning to a more traditional approach. Thanks for your consideration.
