NWO Under Heat Warning

A heat wave is moving through the region, putting some areas under a heat warning from Environment Canada. Meteorologist Mark Schuster explains many areas saw record-breaking highs Friday, and forecasts highs in the 30s for “basically anywhere from about Kenora all the way towards Thunder Bay and up towards Red Lake and Sioux Lookout.” “It looks like these hot temperatures are going to persist into tomorrow,” he notes. The Red Lake and Ear Falls areas are under a special weather statement but have temperatures similar to those under the heat warning. The Thunder Bay area is not under a heat warning because temperatures are under the threshold Environment Canada uses to issue the warning.
