Billerica town center saga enters the courtroom

Residents filled the seats in the Select Board meeting room in Billerica’s Town Hall Nov. 6, and many sounded off against the board during the first opportunity for public comment since the board voted 3-2 Oct. 26 to reject a petition to bring the town center project to a town wide vote.

Select Board votes to reject petition to bring town center project to a vote

Some residents have been expressing outrage after the Billerica Select Board voted 3-2 to reject a petition with at least 2,299 signatures after a campaign to put the $20 million town center project to a town wide vote after it had narrowly been approved at the fall Town Meeting.

Pro-life flag raised over Billerica town center

For the first time in the town’s history, a flag of the pro-life movement was flown over Billerica Monday evening after the Select Board voted 4-1 to allow it last month as it considers a new policy for displaying flags on town poles.
