Twenty-one year-old Peyton Morse was living out his lifelong dream of becoming a firefighter when tragedy struck earlier this month at a training academy.
Morse, a Siena College senior, died Friday afternoon in a Pennsylvania hospital, nine days after suffering a medical emergency while at a firefighter training program for recruits at the state Fire Academy of Fire Science at Montour Falls, near Watkins Glens in Schuyler County. He was taken to a local hospital before being transferred to Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Penn., according to published reports. Details of his death could not be learned Saturday.
