Mark Mathys loved racing so much, he once broke his back on a motorcycle. Doctors told him he would never walk again, but even that didn’t stop him from racing. Still, his daughter told fox35 that family still came first.
Kecia Mathys said her father practiced racing on the Daytona International Speedway track before, but she never thought for a second that he wouldn't come back home.
Daytona Beach police said Mark Mathys, 62, was killed when another racer, Marcel Fayen, crashed into his Porsche at the Daytona International Speedway.
