Linda Liston says her son has a rare genetic condition called Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) and Autism. His specialist, a physician at the University of Florida/Shands, recommended equine assisted therapy. “Patrick is low muscle toned and consequently is more susceptible to developing a severe case of scoliosis, among other health challenges. Patrick received services at Whispering Meadows since he was two years old,” she wrote in an email. “These equine assisted services have helped him immensely both physically and developmentally. … He also learns boundaries, following directions, empathy, communication skills, just to mention a few of the benefits.” (See the video at the foot of the story, provided by the Liston family.)
