Sanibel fire, police and county EMS receive Phoenix Award By TIFFANY REPECKI / trepecki@breezenewspapers.com - | May 18, 2021 TIFFANY REPECKI On May 12, members of the Sanibel Fire and Rescue District, Sanibel Police Department and Lee County Emergency Medical Services were honored with the Phoenix Award. They are, from left, Sanibel police Lt. Elizabeth Buikema, Sanibel firefighter Joe Nygaard, Sanibel fire Capt. Tom Tracy, Lee County paramedic-firefighter Keith Lamb, Lee County EMT Breanne Rose Kelly, Sanibel firefighter Carl Johanson, Sanibel police officer James Serrago and Sanibel firefighter Edward Zarick. The Sanibel Fire and Rescue District recently honored staff, as well as members of the Sanibel Police Department and Lee County Emergency Medical Services, with the prestigious Phoenix Award.
