NCIS: Return date includes two new episodes premiering soon

The NCIS return date is going to be a fun night for fans, as CBS is introducing two new episodes.
NCIS Season 18 has only aired three episodes so far, which also means there is still a lot to come from the show this winter and spring.
The first few installments have left fans with a few questions, beginning with why it appeared that Gibbs shot McGee. It all went down while McGee was trying to stop an airplane from taking off in the first few moments of the NCIS season premiere.

Rather than closing out its seventeenth season in a traditional fashion,
NCIS was forced to cap off its various storylines early after productions started shutting down due to the pandemic. That change-up led the CBS drama s creative team to reconfigure how they wanted Season 18 to open up, which resulted in several opening episodes taking places in flashback form. To kick everything off, however,
NCIS delivered a season premiere cold open in which Mark Harmon s Gibbs was responsible for shooting Sean Murray s McGee, and then casually never revealed why it happened. But it s possible answers are coming soon!

NCIS Season 19 has not yet been picked up at CBS, but that’s also not too surprising.
Typically, CBS comes through with renewals of its top dramas in late winter or spring, so there is a lot of time left for an announcement of NCIS Season 19.
The show has taken a huge hit in overall viewership, though, which is why there are some new questions about whether or not Season 19 will take place during the 2020-21 television year.
