Phil Collins, the famed “Genesis” drummer and singer of “Take Me Home,” has sold a Biscayne Bay mansion that was once listed for $40 million.
The 10,769-square-foot, Mediterranean-style estate had been on the market for just over a month until a buyer whose identity was protected by an LLC scooped it up, according to the
Real Deal. The 11-bedroom, 10-bathroom property was built in 1929 in the style of the traditional villas of Spanish gentry.
The front of the home has 184 feet of beachfront property overlooking Miami’s Biscayne Bay while a private dock, pool, spa, 6,000-gallon koi pond, summer kitchen and cabana give it the feel of a tropical resort. The inside boasts an elevator, a walk-in closet, arched arcades and multiple floor-length windows overlooking Miami.
Just one month after it first hit the market for $40 million, Phil Collins’s Miami Beach mansion has found a new owner. According to The Real Deal, the musician is currently in the process of finalizing the sale of the 11-bedroom, 10-bathroom home, a little over five years after he purchased it through an LLC for $33 million. It is unclear what the final sale price was.
Situated on a 1.2-acre lot, the Mediterranean-style spans 10,769 square feet, with a 184 feet of waterfront overlooking the Biscayne Bay. A private dock has room enough for several boats. The mansion was originally built in the 1920s but was substantially renovated by the owner who came before Collins, businessman Mark Gainor, who purchased the house from Jennifer Lopez in 2005 for $13.9 million.
