If you look up mumbo jumbo in the dictionary, it is defined as gibberish or complicated language intended to obscure and confuse. It’s also defined as incomprehensible language often associated with superstition. I just call it the big mumble.
It might seem odd that there are some highly educated people who use the big mumble regularly as a form of communication. Many politicians, preachers and professors employ it for personal gain. If you can convince people they have big problems and only you have their solutions, they may be inclined to listen to your lectures.
Mumbo jumbo are words that roll off lips as a tactic to create deception to prevent change. There are people who have a vested interest in retaining the past at the expense of everybody else. It’s because they are making money.
