Andover approves buying tanker truck for Fire Department

Bruce Farrin/Rumford Falls Times ANDOVER Residents at the annual Town Meeting on Saturday voted 50-34 to purchase a tanker truck for the Fire Department for $368,533. “Thank you for the firetruck,” Fire Chief Jim Adler told voters. “It’s been an uphill battle. “I understand the cost is going to scare you,” he said. “I’ve checked in for the cheapest truck I could get my hands on. I didn’t want anything elaborate. It is a big-ticket item, but it’s unavoidable. You can’t have a department perform properly without a tanker.”

Along with Mark Farrington, longtime singing partner Jimmy McGirr will be on bass, John Davison (of McCarthy’s fame) on drums, and Boothbay’s own Gabe Tonon on lead guitar. Limited, socially-distanced seating, open windows, following COVID guidelines. All audience members must wear a mask while inside the Opera House. If you are unable to wear a cloth face covering for 90 minutes do not purchase tickets to this show.
