Republican forum to feature Greencastle-Antrim School Board candidates

Echo Pilot The Franklin County Republican Committee will host a forum for candidates for Greencastle-Antrim School Board at 7 p.m. Monday, May 3, in Antrim Brethren in Christ Church. The moderator will be Michele Jansen of 103.7 FM. There are 10 Republican candidates for the four, four-year seats in the May 18 primary election. At the forum, each will give an opening statement, followed by questions and answers. The 10 candidates are current school board members Charles Ford, Mark Chimel and Lindsey Mowen. Others running are Maria Bonebrake, Percy Rock, Eileen Dickinson, Janon Gray, Christopher Bonillas, Rich Davis and Hal Myers. Chimel and Ford cross-filed and their names also will appear on the Democratic ballots.

Greencastle, Antrim Township seats up for election in 2021

A number of seats on boards representing the Greencastle-Antrim community are up for election this year. People interested in running for any of the posts can request a candidates packet from the Franklin County Commissioners. Nominating petitions need to be returned to the commissioners office by 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, for names to be included on the ballot in the May 18 primary election, which will narrow the field for the general election on Nov. 2. This year s election covers more than half of the seats on the nine-member Greencastle-Antrim School Board. This includes four-year positions currently held by Pat Fridgen, Lindsey Mowen, Mark Chimel and Scott Hart, as well as a two-year seat filled by Charles Ford.
