Sentiment towards off-the-plan properties is turning the corner, with the number of searches soaring more than four-fold in some areas over the past three months as generous government incentives entice first home buyers back into the sector.
Interest in high-rise apartments in CBD projects remains subdued, however, due to the weak rental prospects for those markets.
Moreton Bay, in Brisbane’s north, and Riverstone, in Sydney’s north-west, were the most popular, racking up a 346 per cent and 340 per cent jump respectively in the number of buyers searching for off-the-plan properties, new Domain data shows.
A plush Sydney apartment is up for grabs to the first person who guesses how many Lego bricks are in a replica model of the tower.
The one-bedroom flat in Harris Park, in western Sydney, is worth $550,000 and in a huge brand new tower development.
The Lego model will be on display at a Parramatta Eels game on Saturday at Parramatta Stadium for fans to inspect and form their guess.
The toy building was made by Cade Franklin, who won the competitive TV show Lego Masters in 2019.

Property developer Aland, the major jersey sponsor of the Parramatta Eels, will launch the competition this weekend when the Eels play the Sharks at Bankwest Stadium on Saturday. The model tower can be found inside Bankwest Stadium at Gate B. It will be on display all year and supporters will be able to enter at Eels home games in 2021. Entry forms are accessible by a QR code and there is a limit of one entry per person. Aland sales director Mark Bernberg said the development would be in the geographic heart of Sydney .
