Flying flags and carrying signs written in English and Burmese, hundreds gathered at the base of the Sojourner Truth Monument in Battle Creek on Wednesday evening in support of democracy in Myanmar.
The event was organized by the Burma Center, a community organization that supports Battle Creek s Burmese population. It s important that we get the word out, not just to people locally, but to let the people in Burma know that we re standing in solidarity with them and that even though they might be afraid to protest right now, that we re here, protesting for them and with them, said Tha Par, executive director of the Burma Center.
Battle Creek Prepares To Switch Waste Hauling Services

In turn, most communities are able to negotiate for lower rates than what individual residents would be able to get on their own. That also goes with the presumption that the services provided will be on time and properly handled.
