The year started on a good note for local security teams, with successes in Hermanus and its surrounds.
“I think we all need good news these days, and it was certainly a welcome bit of news when we heard about the successes of our colleagues,” says Marius Boshoff, Hermanus branch manager for Fidelity ADT. “It shows we are off to a good start for 2021 and are ready to keep the people of this beautiful town safe.”

Excellent teamwork between HPP CCTV operators and patrollers led to the arrest of two suspected poachers in Hermanus recently.
“The CCTV camera operators who are part of the Hermanus Public Protection (HPP) team noticed suspicious-looking activity on Sandbaai Beach,” says Marius Boshoff, Hermanus Branch Manager for Fidelity ADT. “The operators are connected to patrolling armed response officers and neighbourhood watch members from the control room, which is located across the road from our office.”
The operators, he explained, saw the two men walking along the coastal path towards a house on Marine Drive. It then seemed that something gave them a fright and they quickly changed direction, which further raised the suspicion of the operators.
