NORMAN, Okla. - In front of a sold out crowd at Marita Hynes field, the sixth-ranked Florida State softball team (21-6) gave the No. 1 ranked Oklahoma Sooners (22-1) all it could handle in a 5-4 loss on Tuesday night.
After a scoreless first inning, the Sooners were able to plate a run in the second inning, but Makenna Reid came in and got a strikeout with runners on second and third to end the Sooner's threat.
Jahni Kerr entered the game as a pinch hitter for Krystina Hartley and hit her fifth home run of the year to left field to tie the game in the top of the third. .
The Sooners responded in the bottom of the third with back-to-back home runs, but Ali DuBois limited the damage to keep the Sooners' lead to two.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State softball team (21-5) will face its toughest test of the season when they travel to Norman, Okla., to face No. 1 Oklahoma (20-1) at Marita Hynes field on Tuesday night. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. eastern on ESPN+. This will be the first time that the Seminoles have played in Norman against the Sooners. The Noles will be looking for its first true road win against a No. 1 ranked team in program history. The Seminoles are 7-11 all-time against No. 1 ranked teams. Oklahoma was the last No. 1 ranked team that the Seminoles faced as the two teams met in the championships series of the Women's College World Series in 2021.
