The world governing body says it is focusing on three core areas of the sport - empowering women in leadership positions, breaking with traditions and shining a spotlight on women s stories across its platforms.

The Dutch men and women’s 4×400 relay teams both picked up the gold medal in the European indoor athletics championships in Torun, Poland on Sunday, completing a successful tournament with the double.
Jochem Dobber, Liemarvin Bonevacia, Ramsey Angela and Tony van Diepen completed the race in 3.06.06, beating the Czech Republic and Britain into silver and bronze positions.
The women’s team – Lieke Klaver, Marit Dopheide, Lisanne de Witte and Femke Bol – won in 3.27.15, ahead of Britain and Poland.
The Dutch squad picked up four gold, one silver and two bronze at the championships. Femke Bol earlier picked up gold in the 400 metres while Nadine Visser won the 60 metres hurdles.
