Salvation Army nearly $40,000 below goal for Red Kettle Campaign

Marion (WSIL) The holiday season has come to a close and with it the Salvation Army s Red Kettle Campaign. We did get some large donations via check come in which was wonderful because we were way behind but we re still about 40,000 dollars off of our goal, says Cami Horn, Social Services Manager for the Salvation Army of Southern Illinois.
Horn says they ve raised $112,000 so far, with a goal of $150,000. We re generally happy, considering COVID, with how things went for us even though we have quite a deficiet in the budget. We re going to be able to help people all throughout Southern Illinois for 2021. It s just that help right now is going to be a little bit less than we had hoped for.
