The Marion High School Ag Education Department hosted the South Central District Agriculture Mechanical and Technical Systems Career Development Event on Wednesday, April 7. The central theme of the contest was integrated pest management and contestants were required to complete several tests and practicums over related activities. Some of the activities included reading and interpreting electrical wiring diagrams, using a digital multimeter to measure voltage, amperage, and resistance in a circuit, completing a shielded metal arc welding skill, a small engine measuring and troubleshooting exercise, a sprayer calibration and parts identification practicum, a written test, and a team activity which involved constructing a small project from a set of plans.
