Mrs. Mae Dixie Gifford, age 99, of Gloversville, died Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at her home. Dixie was very grateful of her aides that tended to her care 24/7 and became like family.
She was born November 21, 1921, in the town of Day, the daughter of the late Wilber and Corda Kenyon Coleman. At age 18 she worked at Alma Knitting Mill (Knit-Tru), later at Mario Papa and Sons in the Hand-Closing Dept., General Dry Battery during WW II and Wilkins Pocket Book factory. She loved attending plays, theater and watching movies, as well as traveling with her husband to go square dancing. Her final interest was her enjoyment of butterflies.
