For next year, marine training courses will be offered as virtual and in-person sessions for basic marine electronics installers, and in-person only for advanced installers.

High demand led the National Marine Electronics Association to add a second in-person Advanced NMEA 2000 Installer class to the June training schedule, the
Trainer Mike Spyros of Electronics Unlimited will lead the classes at Fort Lauderdale Marriott North, 6650 North Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309, (954) 771-0440.
Courses run from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (ET) with lunch included and an exam at the end of each session.
The lineup is:
• Wednesday, June 16: Basic NMEA 2000 Network Installer
• Thursday, June 17: Advanced Marine Electronics Installer
• Friday, June 18: Advanced NMEA 2000® Network Installer

• Saturday, June 19: Advanced NMEA 2000® Network Installer recently added and each student must have taken the basic NMEA 2000 Installer Training class.

Inmarsat Maritime said in a statement that it completed its 10,000th Fleet Xpress installation and will launch a series of incentives to celebrate the milestone.
“The Fleet Xpress service continues to provide the superyacht sector’s gold standard for seamless, mobile broadband,” Inmarsat president Ronald Spithout said. “Maritime digitalization is now unstoppable. The market is becoming mature enough to support its own digital ecosystem with separate bandwidth channels for crew, applications and operations.”
The National Marine Electronics Association’s installer certification classes are scheduled to begin Feb. 23-25 in three, six- to eight-hour virtual sessions: Basic Marine Electronics Installer, Basic NMEA2000 Network Installer and Advanced Marine Electronics Installer.
