SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – The Sheboygan Salvation Army‘s Red Kettle Campaign is the most visible operation of the holiday season and, because of the pandemic, it’s struggling to reach even half of its annual goal. But another, less-visible holiday operation is already a success.
Development Director Carrye Jo Cony said that their toy shop had a big demand this year, and that they have over 1,300 children from 450 different families signed up to receive Christmas assistance this year, more than they’ve ever had. To cover the demand, the Sheboygan Salvation Army worked with the Marine Corp Toys for Tots to fill the shelves, but even then weren’t sure they could fill the demand. However, Cony said, the community “really stepped up”, and they were able to get at least three, and maybe more, toys for each child.

NEW YORK, Dec. 17, 2020 /PRNewswire/ Many families are looking to add a little extra magic this holiday season.
Collection is an original story created by James Barbato and Victoria Barbato, allowing their family to share the magic of Christmas and all of its excitement with yours.
Inspired by a real holiday tradition which began with Barbato s father and grandfather, Sylvester (Ziggy) Barbato who was one of nine children from an Italian immigrant family. Ziggy often told James, his son, that their family was too poor to afford toys, but he always vowed that his children would experience the spirit of Christmas nonetheless.

Coronavirus canceled the traditional kids photo op with Santa, so Lakemoor will be bringing the big guy to them.
Starting about 9 a.m. Dec. 19, Santa and his helpers will arrive in Lakemoor for a police escort on village streets.
Flashing lights and blaring sirens will alert little ones that the guest of honor will be arriving in their neighborhoods in five minutes. Santa will follow in a sleigh mounted on a trailer and surrounded by Plexiglas to provide a safe experience.
