Survivors of exposure to toxic water at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune are gathering in Onslow County this month to spread awareness and petition for justice.
An outreach event scheduled for three locations in Jacksonville on Tuesday, April 20 has been organized by members of the Camp Lejeune Toxic Water Survivors Facebook group, a community of more than 16,500 members.
Advocates will be at the following locations from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.: The old Chuck E. Cheese parking lot (2005 N Marine Blvd.), the Sunset Inn (497 Western Blvd.) and Tires Express (1354 Old Maplehurst Rd.).
“This allows us to connect with others that aren t aware of our group and helps us build our numbers to become a stronger group,” said co-organizer Curtis Crawford. “We are there to share our stories and listen to others.”
