A body recovered from the waters of San Pablo Bay today is believed to be that of 17-year-old Antoine Whittley, the Kennedy High student who was last seen Wednesday, Feb. 10, after he exited a rideshare car mid-span on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge.
The body was recovered in the waters near Point Pinole, according to the Richmond Police Department.
“Based on the active investigation and all of the information obtained by Richmond Police Department, it is believed to be the body of Antione Whittley,” the RPD said in a statement today. “Detectives are working with the Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office, who have taken possession of his body, to conduct a positive identification. If an East Bay chocolate company’s sweet deal goes through, it plans to move to Richmond this summer.
Corocao Confections an Oakland-based chocolate manufacturing company that crafts small-batch, hand-made, vegan chocolate bars, truffles, candy bars and drinking chocolates has applied for a conditional use permit (CUP) from the City of Richmond’s Planning Commission, according to the commission’s agenda report. Daniel Korson, who founded the company in 2008, looks to manufacture chocolate at the existing tenant space at 1401 Marina Way South, Suite 300, in Richmond, nearby Purity Wine and Study Bar. The Planning Commission will consider the application Thursday, June 17.
The Richmond Police Department has announced a $10,000 reward for anyone who can provide information leading to the whereabouts of missing Kennedy High student Antoine Whittley.
A daily and ongoing multi-agency land and water search has yet to find the 17-year-old, who went missing after a ride share driver dropped him off mid-span on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10.
Coordinated by Richmond Police Sgt. Joe England, the search is covering a vast area of shoreline and waters from Angel Island to East Brothers Island, and has involved the deployment of RPD drones, CHP and Coast Guard fly overs, Solano County Sheriff underwater sonar capabilities and officers walking the shorelines, according to the Richmond Police Department.
