This morning when they took a closer look, they decided the fire looked suspicious. What makes it suspicious is the time of day it started. We do not have witnesses telling us otherwise. Yesterday when a Fremont Police officer tried to pull the suspect over. He backed the car into the officer patrol car and a gun battle broke out. The officer was shot. The suspect fled the scene got into another gun battle with a second officer. That second officer was shot, as well. Both of them were taken to the hospital. One of them possibly shot in the face. He later entered a home on the 41000 block of roberts avenue. Thats where officers tracked him down around midnight and they have been in negotiations with him since.
