There are Yorkshire’s healthcare champions, honoured by the Queen for efforts over recent months. Scientists and academics, credited for delivering a brighter future for the nation, and education leaders honoured for their work in shaping children’s futures across Yorkshire.
There are also the librarians and charity workers and supermarket staff who helped to create better communities.
Here is a rundown of Kirklees people who have been recognised in the New Year s Honours.

The calm of a beautiful day is shattered when a rural elementary school’s early warning alarm system goes off, signaling that a nuclear strike may be imminent. Not sure whether or not this is a false alarm, the school’s principal (William Daniels) sends the students home in groups with a teacher leading the way.
