Diplomacy vs. migration
The border bottleneck of people fleeing turmoil and violence in their country is the result of years of penning people up on the Mexican side of the border until they exploded through it.
Solutions include stopping people coming into Mexico by having them register in their own countries and working through diplomacy with Mexico to stop them at its border.
Diplomacy also is needed to work with these South American countries to resolve their turmoil and crime. It won t be easy just as we are facing our own turmoil and violence. But the blame game being played out by Congress is not productive. Let s seek workable solutions. A collaborative-four state committee, along with members of Congress, might be a start.
