Five months later, the Philadelphia blues singer who grew up in the Jim Crow South in Millen, Ga., died at age 74, after a yearslong struggle with kidney disease. But after Bey’s death, his star continues to burn bright. On Sunday, All My Dues Are Paid is up for a Grammy for best traditional blues album. He’s posthumously competing against blues and soul greats Robert Cray, Bobby Rush, Don Bryant, and Jimmy “Duck” Holmes.

Legendary illusionist and escape artist Harry Houdini died almost 100 years ago, so this weekend his last remaining descendants will accept the honor of him being inducted into the National Museum of American Jewish History Only in America Hall of Fame. And because there’s always a Rochester connection, one of those descendants is from Greece. Jeff Blood called it “a huge honor” to be included in the ceremony, which will be held online starting at 8 p.m. Saturday. “The Houdinis are second to none,” he said.
