And speaking with local businesses, theyre trying to make up for a lot of the loss profit by elongating the Summer Season. There was a decision in the community to keep the beaches open through the month of september to hopefully charge to have lifeguards here and offset the losses, about 40 less than this time last year. So hearing about how hard hit they were stuck with me. Take a listen to what they told me. We need this weekend and every other weekend in september. There is no way that we could possibly do what we need to do by being closed as long as we were and then open up as late as we did. So i think most of us are grateful that were open. We begin with tributes, memorials, news popping up in honor of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, this one outside the Supreme Court last night after ginsburg lost a final battle with pattern cree yachtic cancer. Chief Justice Roberts made the announcement. He added, quote, today we mourn but with confidence future generations will remember Ruth Bader Ginsburg as we knew her. Ginsburg was 87 years old. She was the second woman appointed to the court and served more than 27 years. She spent most of her legal career fighting for equality and obtained pop culture status as the notorious rbg after the court struck down a key provision of the Voting Rights act of 2013.
